Send email from your app

Your project’s email qube gives you SMTP credentials, so anything that can send mail can send as your domain: WordPress, Laravel, Django, Rails, nodemailer, a contact form, a cron job.

  1. Open your project and click the Email qube.

  2. Find the Send email from your app card.

  3. Copy the host, port, username, password and suggested From address. The password is hidden until you copy it, and it is the same sending token the qube uses, so rotating it changes both.

The card also carries ready-made snippets for .env, Node.js, Python and curl if you would rather paste a working config than fill in fields one at a time.

Setting Value
Host Shown on the card
Port 587
Encryption STARTTLS
Username Shown on the card
Password Your project’s sending token, on the card
From Any address at your verified domain

Use the address you want replies to reach. Mail sent from an address at a domain the qube has not verified will be rejected.

Every message your app sends counts against the project’s monthly send allowance, the same pool as mail you send from the dashboard. When the allowance runs out, SMTP stops accepting messages until your monthly allowance resets. That’s on the first of the month, or on your plan’s renewal day if the project has a paid email add-on. You’re never billed for going over, so your app gets a rejected send and you don’t get an extra invoice.

If the card shows a warning that SMTP is not enabled on the project, sends will be rejected whatever your quota says. Re-run setup or contact support.

These credentials are for sending mail only. They don’t give you a mailbox you can open in a mail client: there is no IMAP or POP, and incoming mail is read in the browser or delivered to your app by webhook. See Send your first email for how receiving works.
